A few years ago my friend Erica shared an amazing perspective with me: If you dress for the weather you have less to complain about when it’s cold and horrible outside.
It was a combination of a duh-aha moment because I realized how frequently I resist the weather. It’s snowed four inches overnight but I still want to wear ballet flats kind of resistance. And it’s frankly silly.
Wearing the boots, buying the warm hat, taking the twenty seconds to zip up my coat are all very small shifts that help me go from a loud groan when leaving the house to a happy observer of the stillness and white glow of a winter wonderland.
