The Winter Solstice is today – it’s the longest night – it’s one of my favorite days of the year. It’s the tipping point of when the days go from darker each day to lighter each day. It feels like the promise of hope and light.

Today I have two suggestions for you:

  • Eat by candlelight tonight. Light your favorite candles. Light a fire. Embrace the darkness by giving it the most beautiful of flickering glimpses of warmth. Put the phones and any electronic devices in an OFF position and expose yourself to an evening of pure light and darkness.
  • Rest. Go to bed early. Turn off the alarm. Remove all expectation in the morning so you can have ease and refreshment when and how you wake.

Light the good ones. Today is special. You are special.
